About Us
CB Rescue is a registered non-profit dog rescue in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
Colin and Belinda started this rescue many years ago, really by accident. They were alerted to a Husky chained in Calgary, 2 years old, she had no human interaction, no walks and no love. They bought the dog from the owner and found her a wonderful home. That was eight years ago, she is now 10 years old. Belinda and Colin knew they could help others. They vacationed in the Dominican in March 2013 where they brought supplies and volunteered at a dog shelter (Collares Rojos). Belinda always said if I had a million dollars I would start a rescue. She soon realized all she needed was passion, drive and others who would follow her dream. The rest is history.
We partner with other reputable rescues working as a team for the greater good of the dogs, specializing in helping dogs that are in danger of abuse or neglect. We are dedicated to rescuing any dogs in distress no matter the location, age, breed, or ease of placement.
We place all of our dogs in loving, responsible and committed permanent homes. Placement of our dogs does not happen until we have undertaken our comprehensive adoption process which includes taking considerable care in finding a good family environment that matches the dog’s needs. Our adoption process also includes educating potential adopters about the responsibilities and costs of bringing a dog into their homes and lives. We are proud to say we have a LESS than 1% return rate.
Animals in our care are spayed or neutered, receive all appropriate veterinary care and treatment. We place the dogs in nurturing foster homes while they await placement in their permanent homes. Our group remains interested in, and committed to, the welfare of the dog beyond the adoption process.
Finally, we strive to work with other reputable rescues and humane organizations to develop a network of supporters and volunteers in order to create a better world for homeless pets.

Our Origin Story
In 2017, we decided to start our own non-profit organization to help abused and neglected dogs.
It really happened by accident. We came across a dog that was chained for two years. No walks, no interaction. We approached the owner and managed to by the dog. That Husky was the very first dog we saved, and she is thriving. She walks every day, receives spa treatments and is spoiled rotten! We knew we could help other dogs.
We believe every dog should have their own loving family who will exercise the dog, provide love and accept them as a part of their family. CB Rescue will take its time in finding every dog their own perfect home. We look for dog lovers, not just dog owners. We strive to match each of our animals with the home that is perfect for them. Our in-depth adoption process was developed with that goal in mind and has resulted in a less than 1% return rate.
Once a CB Rescue dog, always a CB Rescue dog.
