So many dogs are in need of adopting. Without the help of other rescues, they would never find homes. Saving a dog means opening up room for more dogs to be spayed/neutered, vaccinated and helped. CB Rescue will take care of all the paperwork and the extra fees. It is a smooth process to adopt a dog or just bring one back with you! Please email us for details.
When you plan your next vacation, please let us know a few weeks before you travel and we can match you with one of our partner rescues and help get these unwanted dogs a loving home!

Testimonials from our Flight Companions
Have you ever wanted to help save a dog from a terrible situation, but you can’t care for a dog right now? Have you ever thought about being a flight angel, but worried that it may take away from your holiday or cause you issues upon your return? I can assure you that being a flight angel is not only easy, it doesn’t interfere with your trip plans at all. It is so rewarding knowing you saved the life of a dog!
I was met at the airport while I waited in line to check my bags. The rescue takes care of checking in the dog with you and provides everything you need. You then enjoy the company of a beautiful pup under the seat in front of you as a carry on. When you land, you will go through a second screening for customs. The best part was we were out faster than our friends who didn’t have a dog! All they asked for was the rabies papers, which you will have and then you're done. Someone from the rescue will greet you at the baggage claim to pick up the dog. It really is that easy! You will not regret saving the life of a dog. |
I just wanted to let you know what an amazing experience it was to be a flight companion for Merry on Monday. We have never done anything like this before, so we had really no idea what it would involve. Honestly, my husband was terrified with the idea of bringing a dog from Mexico to Canada. But after looking at your FB page and that of the Playa Animal Rescue, I had no doubt in my mind about the great work you are doing.
I wasn’t nervous and as it turned out, I never needed to be. The whole process went so smooth and involved minimal input from our side. Jan and Marco from Playa met us at the Cancun airport with Merry and all the paperwork - all we had to do was play with Merry for a bit (how fun!) and then check her in along with us. They took her from there and the next time we met her was in Calgary when we picked up our luggage - she was waiting for us in her little crate at the oversized luggage. The only “work” on our part was to declare on our customs card that we were bringing in a dog and from there they directed us to the secondary customs where we were waiting for Cindy to pay the bill. The customs officers must have dogs of their own as they were very helpful and told us where to wait until whatever was done and then told us that Cindy will be waiting for us outside.
It didn’t matter that we had no experience as everything had been so well organized by you guys. We had no trouble anywhere and honestly - the whole experience of helping such a sweet dog at a chance to a new life, priceless!
I cannot say enough to commend you and Jan and her crew on the work you all do. God Bless you all. Thank you.

I would volunteer to be a flight angel for CB Rescue again in a heart beat!
I have to admit I was nervous to accompany a dog on an airplane flight. I was worried about how the dog would react to me and being on a flight.
CB Rescue took care of all the details from booking the dog on the flight, to supplying the carrier/leash/harness, to booking the transport of the dog to the airport. Once Molly was handed over to me at the airport, by the transport company, she was fantastic. I let Molly walk thru the airport and carried her in my arms thru security. She was clearly much happier in my arms but she was amazing on leash in the airport. While we waited at our gate Molly sat in my lap and snuggled right up to me. Many people walked by and I was happy to share that she had just been saved from the high kill shelter in Las Vegas. I checked with the gate agent about boarding early and they were happy to let us board early.
Once on the flight, an attendant talked me thru the procedures for traveling with a dog. I had a very uneventful flight and would not have even known Molly was snuggled into her carrier.
It was truly very simple for me and the most important aspect was that I know I helped to save a dog's life.
If you are on the fence about being a flight angel because you are nervous about the details or how the dog would react, I would suggest jump off the fence and be an angel today! It feels amazing knowing that you have saved a life.
