Testimonials
What does fostering mean to us... Many people ask us how we can open our home and heart to a dog that we know will eventually have to leave. People often say they could never do it as they would get too attached. To us the answer is simple. Do we get attached? Yes. Is it difficult to say goodbye? Yes. Do we still think about our past fosters? Yes. Is it worth it? In every sense of the word.
Bringing a dog into our home allows the chance for another dog to be saved. CB Rescue relies solely on foster homes, therefore without fosters Belinda and Colin would not be able to save dogs. Being a foster has allowed us to help Belinda and Colin give dogs a second chance at life. We are helping give a new life to the voiceless. We have so much respect for what Belinda, Colin and the entire CB Rescue family do- they are truly the most selfless people and opening our home as a foster home is the least we could ever do to show our appreciation. |
We foster to help make rescue dogs become more adoptable, by house training, socializing, training and teaching the dog how to be a part of a loving family. We foster to show some of the dogs the first sense of love they may have ever felt. Mike and I are beyond blessed to be the stepping stone for each dog that we have fostered towards their new furever home. Seeing the dog thrive in their new home that was hand picked for them by Belinda is one of the most rewarding feelings. It is often said that rescue dogs have “won the lottery.”
However, I truly believe that “we” are the ones who have won the lottery, by having the opportunity to be a part of these dogs' lives. Being a part of a rescue dog’s journey is such a humbling feeling. The love and joy we get from fostering dogs and seeing them come out of their shell is truly unmatched. Mike and I (and Rocky & Luke) are immensely thankful to be a part of the CB Rescue family: “Saving Dogs, Changing Lives.”
